Jeppson Memorial Fund Selects Five Organizations for 2015 Grants

The Foundation today announced that five organizations, which benefit the residents of Brookfield, Massachusetts, were granted funds as part of the Jeppson Memorial Fund. Per the purpose of the trust, grants may be used for general support, special programs, staff costs, equipment purchase, construction or supplies; training or conferences; planning efforts with other organizations; research and program evaluation; all in support of the people of Brookfield.

The organizations receiving funds from the 2015 Jeppson Memorial Fund are:


An advisory committee comprised Brookfield residents Amy Law, Lydia Lucas, Terri McIsaac, Peter O’Connell, Clarence Snyder, and GWCF Sr. Program Officer Pamela Kane reviewed and approved the awards.

  • A.P.P.L.E. Seed, Inc. is an organization which is dedicated to the betterment of the Brookfield community as a more desirable place to live and grow: $1300
  • The Council on Aging enhances the lives of Brookfield senior citizens by providing information, referral services, and opportunities for socialization and recreation. This particular grant is for a cooking class: $400
  • The Friends of Brookfield Town Hall raise funds and awareness to support the renovations of the town hall. This grants supports a newsletter appeal: $700
  • The Merrick Public Library houses tens of thousands of books, provides computer access and critical children’s programming. This grant is for a pre-school music therapy program: $2000
  • New Hope Inc. is a 501(c)(3) focused on ending domestic violence in south central Massachusetts. This grant is to help fund the SAFEPLAN program specifically designed for residents of Brookfield: $2000
